I've waited all day till the sun explodes and drops off the face of the earth.
I couldn't sleep, I've kept myself busy.
I'm waiting for first sight of the child of the night.
She whispers when she comes by. An ear to the wind I keep.
I feel her smooth chill as she winds her way through the woods.
She plays tricks on the eyes, and displaces all who set traps for her, but I... I just want to say hello.
Tell her I've missed her, help her plan her next trick.
Dance in her light till she dips down over the lake leaving me without sleep, but an adventure in my mind.

Wall
My walls cracked like faults in Earth's core.
Magma flowed from the cracks, destroying what was left of my Pompeii.
A beaten land now open to fertile farming land.
A chance to plant the seeds and care for this love.
Tender and gentle were you and your land grew and produced bountiful acts.
But soon the land was over run with crowd.
The seeds no longer took to the land ad you left.
You did not try to recover your land but merely left it for whatever poor soul happened to stumble upon it.
Now overgrown with weeds the land merely sits.
Unused, unloved.
They've come to re build the wall.
To keep all those who pass by out.
To keep the destruction out of sight.
A brick each day placed upon the heart of the land.
Blocking the views of the innocent.

Lost
I think i've lost something, but i am not sure what.
The moon glows off wet cobblestone streets.
Hiding in the trees we look for it.
Scanning the mine field of suburbia.
Not knowing what to look for, or where to find it.
Alone, in the dark, midnight, 1am, 2am, 3.
Haunting hour is upon the stillness of white picket fences.
The moon that once glowed so fearlessly scurries behind the clouds.
No witnesses to bear the demon that should soon be released.
They've all gone, but i still watch, still searching, coming out of the woods.
I cannot breathe for i am being watched. Am i?
I am the demon. I've come to feed upon the fears of the innocent.
I've come to recruit the mindless and spineless, to lead them into the
valley of death where none shall seek them out.
I've come to reek havoc on the well. They never knew it was me
they were looking for. Me they were trying to destroy.
Shhh, my child. Don't scream. It will all be over soon enough.
Hush, listen to wind, look in to my eyes. See into my soul.
See the darkness that has taken over, the demon inside.
Look in to what you shall become. Your prayers are not heard.
Your God has left you to my evil intentions. A sacrifice to please
the underworld, to let the humans continue to roam.
But you... you come to us. You have seen it in your eyes.
The reflection in the foggy mirror after sleepless nights.
The pain in your heart turns to spikes of ice dipped in the
poison of society. The looks from strangers, no longer will
you duck your head in shame. Look them straight into the
eyes, make sure the see the evil growing in you.
Do not let them tell you there is hope.
